One of the things a friend of mine explored in her dissertation years ago, is who do we write to when we write in a journal? Blogs seem to vastly complicate this question: here I am writing by myself, to myself, but the possibility exists of a public far larger than I care to think about--but, for this class, I will think about it--for myself and any future students I have for whom this activity becomes part & parcel of their work--
